Y-107 RAISES $1,101,180 TO HELP KIDS OF ST.
JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
(NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 12, 2001) - New Country Y-107
is proud to announce the grand total pledged during Y-107's Fourth
Annual St. Jude Radiothon was $1,101,180!
The 39-hour live Radiothon, which ran from Friday,
February 9th at 6am through Saturday, February 10th at 9pm at
Woodbridge Center Mall in Woodbridge, New Jersey, benefited St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Highlights of the Y-107 St. Jude Radiothon included
live appearances by Alabama frontman and St. Jude Country Cares
founder RANDY OWEN and country superstar and star of Broadway's
"Annie Get Your Gun" REBA MCENTIRE.
Y-107's 2001 total of $1,101,180 marks a 27% increase
from the 2000 Radiothon total of $869,000 and brings the total
amount of money raised by Y-107 for St. Jude Hospital in the
past four years to over 3.2 Million Dollars!
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of America's
premiere research and treatment centers for pediatric cancer
and other catastrophic childhood diseases. The hospital, which
is located in Memphis, treats patients from all over America
and the world and shares its valuable research with hospitals,
doctors and researchers throughout the world.
Y-107 listeners and friends of St. Jude can look forward
to Y-107's Fifth Annual St. Jude Radiothon, to be held in February
2002!
