Y-107 RAISES $426,058 TO HELP KIDS OF ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL (NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 17, 1998) - New Country Y-107 is proud to announce the grand total pledged during Y-107's 1st Annual St. Jude Radiothon was $426,058! The 39 hour live Radiothon, which was held this past Valentine's Day Weekend at Woodbridge Center Mall in Woodbridge, New Jersey, benefited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, America's premiere pediatric cancer research hospital. Highlights of the Y-107 St. Jude Radiothon included a surprise visit from LEANN RIMES, who showed up Friday morning at 9am with tour-mate BRYAN WHITE, a live performance by CHELY WRIGHT, visits from three inspiring childhood cancer survivors and a $20,000 anonymous donation made at 3am on Saturday morning! Y-107 listeners can look forward to Y-107's 2nd Annual St. Jude Radiothon, to be held at Woodbridge Center in February 1999! New Country Y-107 is a trimulcast on 107.1 FM consisting of WWXY-FM (New York), WWZY-FM (New Jersey) and WWVY-FM (Long Island). |
